Sight is the most important sense to me. I use my sense of sight everyday and could not imagine living without it. Sight is the sense I am most dependent upon and I rely on my ability to see for almost all of the activities I do. Without sight I would not be able to enjoy my common hobbies or have as many memories with family and friends.
First, the reason I came to Indiana University of Pennsylvania was for the major of Computer Science. As a Computer Science major I use my sight in all of my work. Sight is crucial to working with and learning about computers. Sight allows me to see every diagram and problem my professor writes on the blackboard. Sight is also included in one of my computer-related hobbies, video games. Playing video games was a very common thing to do with family and friends. My brother and I would always play hockey games and be on the same team. It was always exciting to see an amazing goal or a devastating hit. I also enjoy live and television broadcasted sport events. Watching major leaguers play a game of baseball at PNC Park was always special to me. PNC Park was always a nice place to see a baseball game because from every seat you could see the all that the ballpark had to offer. In left field the big yellow Roberto Clemente bridge always stood out in front of the entire downtown Pittsburgh skyline. The field was also memorable for having the greenest grass you have ever seen cut into a different pattern everyday. The atmosphere was amazing in addition to batters crushing baseballs into the air longer then I have ever seen, only to disappear over the outfield wall into the crowd.
I also value my sense of sight when I think of memories with my family. My family loves to travel especially in the summer. Every summer we would go on vacation with my relatives as a family reunion. We would usually go somewhere in the Caribbeans like Aruba, the Bahamas, or the Cayman Islands. I love going to places in the Caribbean because it is nothing like home in Pittsburgh. The skies are always blue and there is not a cloud in sight. There is sand, ocean, and palm trees everywhere, which creates a very comforting, laid-back atmosphere. It is also a great experience to go snorkeling in these kinds of places. Seeing schools of hundreds of colorful tropical fish is one of the greatest memories I have of these vacations.
