This semester of English 121 I learned a lot. Probably more than I did in English 101 last semester. I knew how to write descriptive, persuasive, etc. papers, but this semester it was a big change for me being in a reading intensive class where we write, of all things, poems. At first I was hesitant, of course, but I knew this class would turn out fine. I was right, this class is by far my favorite this semester due to it’s very interesting and class appropriate readings as well as the daily thought provoking class discussions.

So far in this class I have learned about archetypes and how they are so important in our everyday lives. I do not think this class ruined movies for me. I think it is exciting to analyze movies that I watch, picking out the fool, hero, temptress, etc. I also learned about the monomyth and the hero’s journey, which made me relate this to my life and the hero’s journey that I am on.
